Code of Conduct

Every wrestler in this archive is somebody's kid. Most of them are minors. They wrestle in front of a crowd, lose in front of that same crowd, and then find their results published on a page anyone can read.

That last part is our doing. It puts an obligation on us, and on everyone who uses this site: the record is here to be looked up and checked, never to be used against the person in it.

Coaches, parents, and wrestlers should all be able to use this site without bracing for it. That is the whole bar.

Every number here is one formula's reading of the results it happens to have. It is not a judgment of a wrestler's worth, their potential, or how hard they work, and it is not a claim about who would win on a given day.

The formula does not know who wrestled hurt, who moved up two weight classes to fill a hole in the lineup, who was cutting badly, or whose season turned around in February. It does not know that a 12-8 record against a brutal schedule can mean more than 30-2 against nobody. It reads results, and results are a thin slice of a season.

We publish the formula so you can check our work and tell us when we get it wrong. That is the point of showing it. Argue with the data. Never with a kid over their number.

See exactly how a rating is calculated

This applies to anything you send us — correction reports, emails — and to conduct toward other people connected to this site:

• Harassment, abuse, or threats directed at any wrestler, coach, parent, official, or anyone on our end.
• Anything aimed at a minor. Mocking, pressuring, demeaning, or piling on a young athlete. There is no version of this we will treat as a gray area.
• Using our data as a weapon — taking a record, a rating, or a rank and using it to humiliate, bully, or pressure a wrestler.
• Discriminatory abuse based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.
• Publishing private information about a wrestler or their family — addresses, phone numbers, schedules, anything beyond what a published bracket shows.
• False reports. Submitting corrections you know to be wrong in order to move a rating, damage a record, or settle a score.
• Impersonating a wrestler, coach, program, or official.

We would rather correct a bad moment than end an account, and adults occasionally send something in anger they would not send an hour later. So a first offense that is rude rather than cruel usually gets a warning.

Some things skip the warning. Threats, anything targeting a minor, doxxing, and repeat behavior after a warning result in immediate and permanent loss of access.

A ban means the account is closed and we will not open a new one for you. A season pass is not refunded when access is lost for a deliberate violation — see the Terms of Service.

Where someone is threatened, or where a minor is targeted, we may pass what we have to their school, the relevant governing body, or law enforcement.

We make these calls ourselves, case by case, and we will not pretend that is a neutral process. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and say so.

Tell us. Include what happened, where, and any screenshots or links you have. We read every one of these ourselves, and we will tell you what we did about it.

If a wrestler is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first. We are a website; they are not.

None of this is about protecting our rankings from criticism. The data has gaps, the matching sometimes gets a wrestler wrong, and the formula is a set of choices that reasonable people can argue about. We would rather hear it.

If a result is wrong, report the row and we will look at it. If you think the formula weighs something badly, write to us and make the case. A rule we cannot defend is a rule worth changing.

A place where a parent can look up their kid and feel proud. Where a coach can prepare for a seeding meeting without rebuilding a bracket by hand. Where a wrestler who placed sixth at a rough tournament can still see the season they had, written down and permanent.

The sport already supplies the intensity. This part can be calm.
