Every wrestler starts each season at 1,000. What moves it from there:

• match points for each varsity win and loss, weighted by the gap in rating
• a bonus for beating a ranked or previously-proven opponent
• the best postseason finish of the season
• a seed carried in from an earlier postseason, where there is one
• an occasional correction by us, with the reason recorded
